Hey That’s Nice channel branding

Hey That’s Nice is a YouTube channel aimed at sharing nice things with nice people. The videos uncover all the nerdy details that make things fun. It moves away from traditional product reviews, and instead brings a fresh perspective - a minds-eye-view of what makes something great.

Taking the channels proposed content and ethos, I created a simple, memorable, and fun core graphic which encapsulated the idea of sharing the creators minds-eye. The instantly recognisable smiley face formed the basis for the mark with the addition of a third eye, elevated to represent the minds perspective. Open, engaged, friendly, and colourful.

Primarily used across the channels YouTube pages, the branding is supported by a monogram, repeating tile pattern, graphically textured background plates, and direction for grouping these assets in a variety of environments.

The brand extends beyond the surface to support the content creation with title boards, image overlays, lower-thirds, and other overlays available during editing.

The assets are designed to be interchangeable, flexible, and cohesive as a set. There was an emphasis on getting legibility right and ensuring accessible visual content.

Additional lockups were created to allow the brand to live beyond the screen too. If merch is ever required in the future, options are available for them to quickly create and enjoy the brand in different contexts.

As the channel gets underway I am looking forward to evolving and adding to the collateral set and extending the brand further.
